Responsibilities

Design and review protective relay schemes for high-voltage power transformers and substations; Perform protective relay coordination studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc-flash hazard studies; Calculate, develop, and document relay settings for transformer differential, overcurrent, and other protection functions; Review one-line diagrams, relay logic, SCADA/control schematics, and protection drawings for technical accuracy; Support field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems; Investigate relay misoperations and equipment failures, leading root-cause analysis and developing corrective-action recommendations; Maintain and improve protection engineering standards, relay-setting templates, procedures, and technical documentation; Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to field technicians and junior engineering staff; Collaborate with project and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain reliable project delivery; Travel to client and project sites nationwide to support testing, commissioning, and field engineering activities; Follow required safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site protocols when supporting energized transformer and substation locations.
