Job Overview:
The position involves research activity focusing on the pharmacological and toxicological investigation of bioactive compounds of natural origin, with particular emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases. The primary objective is the characterization of molecular mechanisms underlying neurotoxicity and neuroprotection, evaluating pharmacological efficacy and safety profiles in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.

Responsibilities:
Research Activity:
- Investigate the role of dietary-derived factors potentially involved in neurodegenerative processes.
- Elucidate mechanisms by which such components contribute to oxidative stress and neuronal dysfunction.
- Identify pharmacological strategies based on natural compounds capable of counteracting detrimental effects.
- Participate in all phases of research, from selection and preliminary characterization of molecules with potential neuroprotective properties to the design and implementation of pharmacological protocols.
- Investigate mechanisms of action and identify appropriate experimental approaches for assessing biological activity in in vitro and in vivo models of neurodegeneration.

Teaching Activity:
- Teach courses consistent with SSD BIOS-11/A (Pharmacology) within Bachelor’s, Master’s, single-cycle Master’s degree programs, and PhD programs within the Medical Area Departments of the University, with priority given to programs affiliated with the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine.
- Participate in examination committees.
- Supervise undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral theses.
- Engage in student tutoring and mentoring activities.
- Contribute to the organization and management of teaching and research activities at University and Department levels.
- Ensure active participation in academic bodies and related committees.

Organizational Duties:
- Undertake institutional and organizational responsibilities within the Department and/or the University.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education Level: PhD or equivalent.
- Research Field: Pharmacological sciences.
- Languages:
- Italian: Mother Tongue level.
- English: Excellent level.
- Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2), Leading Researcher (R4), First Stage Researcher (R1), or Established Researcher (R3).
