## Responsibilities
- Travel to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently.
- Handle virtual claims countrywide using platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration.
- Focus expertise on water losses to ensure customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these specific claims.
- Act as the Customer Service Expert by living into Allstate's Claims Culture through compassion, clarity, and partnership in each claim.
- Serve as the Investigator by independently investigating property claims, reviewing damage, and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- Function as the Effective Communicator by using phone, emails, and video chat to assist customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process.
- Serve as the Negotiator by evaluating and negotiating claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants.
- Act as the Problem Solver by utilizing estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms while applying critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve as the Recorder by ensuring timely and accurate documentation of work in a claims system, adhering to policy agreements.
## Requirements
- Willing and able to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on either a one to two-story roof.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.
- Reside within the posted location (Fairfax, VA) as residency is mandatory for this role.
- Attend 2-weeks of training in Dallas, TX.
- Obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire, including passing a background check with the Department of Labor.
## Nice to Have
- Reside within the greater Virginia Beach area.
- 2-3 years previous experience as an outside adjuster.
- Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating.
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements.
