Role Overview:
The role is for a PhD researcher to be recruited for a period of 10 working days within the Project 101115525 - Blood2Power, funded by the European Commission. The main research field is Physics, Physical Engineering, Chemistry, with a sub-field of Nanotechnology. The position is a temporary, full-time role with an exclusive dedication basis, scheduled to begin in August 2026 and lasting up to 4 months, not exceeding a maximum of six years.
Responsibilities:
As a PhD Researcher, you will be responsible for carrying out research and development activities and all other scientific and technical activities within the scope of the missions of the respective Organic Unit and U. Porto. You will participate in the development and execution of the research project through the execution of scientific and technical activities inherent to it, specifically in WP5 β Study of the interaction between triboelectric devices and biological fluids and the functional performance of intelligent grafts.
Requirements:
Application can be submitted by any nationals, foreigners, and stateless people who meet the following conditions cumulatively: hold a PhD degree with no more than 5 years, and have a scientific and professional background appropriate to the activities to be carried out. If the candidate holds a doctorate awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions established in Decree-Law no. 66/2018. All formalities established in the Decree-Law must be met prior to hiring.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree with no more than 5 years of experience, and a scientific and professional background appropriate to the activities to be carried out. The evaluation will focus on the candidate's experience in machine learning and COMSOL modeling of materials and devices.
What They Offer:
The position offers a remuneration of β¬2,408.11 in accordance with Law No. 57/2017 and the first remuneration position of the initial level provided for in the Regulatory Decree n. 11-A/2017, corresponding to level 33 of the single remuneration table updated by DL 10-B/2020. The job is based in the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
