## Responsibilities - Helping customers architect scalable, highly available database solutions that leverage AWS services - Developing customer applications and databases to be cloud-optimized - Analyzing on-premises database environments such as Oracle, SQL*Server, or other commercial DB engines and migrating them to open-source engines like Aurora-PostgreSQL/MySQL or NoSQL databases like DynamoDB - Consulting for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance - Working as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams - Advising and implementing AWS best practices ## Requirements - 10+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience - 7+ years of database (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience - 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience - Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience ## Nice to Have - Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead - Experience in heterogeneous database migration (e.g., Oracle to Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, SQL Server to open-source engines) - Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in AWS cloud database and migration services (DMS) ## Benefits This is a customer facing role.
