SQA Engineer, Automation & Validation
Salary: $95,000 - 115,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree or technical diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical discipline. We are looking for experience in software testing, test automation, embedded product validation, networking, or related product development work. Early-career professionals or recent graduates may be considered if they show strong technical curiosity, disciplined troubleshooting, and a willingness to learn. We value strong script development and maintenance skills, ideally with Python and frameworks such as PyTest. We expect practical knowledge of Linux environments, including command-line usage, shell scripting, networking commands, logs, and troubleshooting methods. We need the ability to build reusable test scripts, utilities, and procedures for functional, regression, integration, and system testing. We look for the ability to analyze test failures using logs, traces, packet captures, configuration data, and structured debugging techniques. A basic understanding of Ethernet networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, switching, multicast, and related technologies is important. Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity, autonomy, attention to detail, and a desire to keep learning are essential. The role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with firmware, software, hardware, production, and technical support teams. Valuable additional experience includes Python, PyTest, Scapy, shell scripting, Git, Jira, CI/CD, automated regression testing, traffic generation, packet capture, protocol validation, network diagnostics, and web UI automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
Responsibilities:
We execute manual and automated functional, regression, integration, performance, stability, and system-level tests. We validate features tied to networking, embedded software, configuration, diagnostics, and product management functions. We support testing for new features, software releases, firmware releases, ECO verification, and product release readiness. We document test cases, test plans, results, failures, observations, and verification evidence clearly and consistently. We contribute to validation records needed for engineering release and product readiness. We develop, maintain, and run automated test cases using Python, PyTest, or similar tools. We create reusable scripts, utilities, and procedures that improve SQA efficiency and repeatability. We help enhance existing automation frameworks and test environments. We build or support scripts that generate traffic, validate network behavior, collect logs, and enable regression testing. We improve test coverage, automation reliability, and repeatable release verification. We analyze failed tests and partner with firmware, software, hardware, and SQA teams to identify root cause. We reproduce issues using lab setups, test scripts, network configurations, logs, traces, and structured debugging methods. We log software or system defects in Jira or comparable issue-tracking systems. We verify fixes, support regression analysis, and help confirm release readiness. We participate in sprint planning, design reviews, QA discussions, and technical reviews as needed. We validate networking capabilities such as Ethernet switching, VLANs, multicast, Layer 2 behavior, IP connectivity, and product management functions. We support testing for products deployed in broadband access, multi-tenant, hospitality, and carrier-grade environments. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen product quality, resolve issues, and investigate field problems.
