Responsibilities
Lead the design, deployment, administration, and optimization of enterprise firewall technologies, including Palo Alto Networks platforms; Manage firewall policies, rule reviews, configuration changes, and security architecture recommendations; Analyze and respond to network threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents; Assess security risks and recommend improvements to network, cloud, and application security; Support and maintain IDS/IPS, WAF, VPN technologies, and network access controls; Work with infrastructure, networking, cloud, and application teams to incorporate security requirements into solution designs and implementations; Support cloud security initiatives across AWS and Microsoft Azure; Create and maintain security engineering documentation, network diagrams, standards, procedures, and operational runbooks; Lead security technology projects and advise project teams throughout the system development lifecycle; Review new systems, technologies, and architectural designs for security; Participate in incident response, threat hunting, root cause analysis, and forensic investigations as needed; Monitor security events using SIEM platforms and work with Security Operations teams to identify and remediate threats; Automate operational security activities using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages; Ensure security controls and configurations align with NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and other applicable standards; Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior security staff and project teams; Support planned and unplanned maintenance, including after-hours implementations and incident response.
