Salary: $93,600 - 114,400 per year
Requirements:
We need at least 5 years of hands-on experience in DWDM or optical transport planning. We are looking for someone who has worked on large-scale network migration or deployment programmes. Strong knowledge of SONET, DWDM and OTN concepts, along with transport network architectures, is required. Solid understanding of IP networking and transport infrastructure is essential. Hands-on experience with circuit and inventory audits is needed. Proficiency in network data analysis and migration strategy development is important. Ability to design and analyse highly complex multi-degree ROADM networks is required. Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders are needed. A strategic, analytical approach with strong problem-solving ability is essential. Familiarity with Pro (Granite) and TIRKS inventory systems is preferred. Experience in multi-vendor environments, including Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, ADVA, Alcatel-Lucent, Fujitsu and Nortel, is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
We develop and deliver high-level strategic designs that support migration and grooming programmes. We create strategic and tactical solutions for migrating legacy SONET, DWDM and IP services across multi-vendor environments. We design topology changes within complex ring and transport network configurations. We carry out circuit audits and inventory reviews. We analyse access tails, vendor records and network data. We identify existing network capacity to support migration and grooming activities. We plan new Gigabit, 10G and 100G services across DWDM infrastructure. We recommend site-specific capacity upgrades and broader network optimisation solutions. We collaborate with Fibre, DWDM, IP and Field Engineering teams to deliver successful migration programmes.
