Requirements:
We prefer a high school diploma or GED, along with vocational or technical training. We look for experience in general maintenance, including interior and exterior surface preparation and painting. We require at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience. We require a valid drivers license. We require Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification. We require compliance with all applicable state and federal certification or licensing requirements.
Responsibilities:
We respond to and handle guest repair requests, resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision. We communicate with guests and customers to address maintenance concerns promptly and professionally. We carry out preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. We inspect tools, equipment, machines, shut-off valves, and building shut-offs, and carry equipment as needed. We maintain maintenance inventory and order parts and supplies when necessary. We share daily activity updates and unresolved issues with other shifts using approved communication standards. We apply strong knowledge in one trade area and solid to above-average skills across several others, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building operations. We use hand and power tools safely and perform basic repairs such as soldering PVC or copper pipe. We troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment and guestroom items, including pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, lamps, switches, outlets, vacuums, and internet devices. We program televisions and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related work. We assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb changes, A/C filter replacement, and cleanup after repairs. We follow Lockout/Tagout procedures before starting maintenance work. We use engineering systems and computer programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and connected devices. We perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. We train and mentor other engineers and support Engineer on Duty duties, including readings and rounds. We follow company, safety, and security policies, report hazards or incidents, complete required training, and store flammable materials properly. We maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information, safeguard company assets, and deliver courteous service to all guests. We build positive working relationships, support team goals, communicate clearly, and complete other reasonable duties as assigned.
