Senior Backend Developer

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. We need 6+ years of back-end or full-stack development experience. We look for experience working collaboratively with software development teams. We value the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We require strong communication and technical documentation skills. We want a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies. We require 4+ years of experience with microservices, including C# .NET 6/7/8, Entity Framework Core, REST APIs, and preferably FastEndpoints. We require 4+ years of experience in database development with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or a comparable relational database platform. We require 4+ years of experience with event-driven architecture. We require experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling. We require experience with distributed systems and microservices orchestration such as AKS/Kubernetes. We value knowledge of caching approaches such as Redis or similar technologies. We require experience with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and tracing. We require Azure cloud experience, including Function Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure App Configuration, and Application Insights. We prefer experience with Okta or Auth0. We require experience using unit testing frameworks such as xUnit. We require experience with JIRA or a similar project management tool.
Responsibilities:
We lead and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from feasibility and solutioning through development and release. We analyze business requirements and assess the technical feasibility of UI/UX concepts. We prepare development estimates based on the defined scope. We architect and design software solutions. We produce technical specifications and supporting documentation. We build features, enhancements, and bug fixes through code. We develop, debug, test, perform QA, and support applications. We apply secure coding practices and align with data protection standards. We improve application performance using insights from monitoring tools. We conduct code reviews to uphold quality and engineering standards. We design and develop database structures. We oversee the development pipeline from development to production through automation. We work within Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid SDLC environments. We use Azure Cloud Services, including Functions, Service Bus, Containers, and App Configuration. We optimize databases and queries for efficient storage and retrieval of spatial data such as PostGIS. We provide technical guidance and leadership to junior developers. We perform other related duties as assigned.
