Unix Security Engineer
Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year

Responsibilities:
We develop and implement security controls to protect our organization. We assess current security practices and recommend improvements to leadership for greater efficiency and stronger protection. We share our findings with managers and propose new technologies or policy updates. We research security risks and design effective strategies to reduce threats, including secure handling of sensitive information. We prepare and review security assessments to measure changes in risk performance over time. We reduce exposure by evaluating infrastructure and devices, identifying weaknesses, and applying control analysis to drive prompt remediation. We adjust software permissions to prevent unauthorized access, while monitoring firewalls and switches to help avoid data loss and identity theft. We create platform accounts and manage passwords for automated application jobs across DEV, TEST, and PRODUCTION environments on Unix/Linux platforms. We provision access for users and service accounts by validating security concerns and the required access level. We confirm that elevated or privileged access requests for user and service accounts meet Information Security standards. We collect sensitive details, such as owner and SME information for TPM applications, to support approval of customer-submitted requests. We verify that the appropriate change requests are in place for updates to the relevant platforms and environments.
