Salary: $95,485 - 125,132 per year
Requirements:
We require a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline. We are looking for strong proficiency in modern C++. We need proficiency in Python for scripting, tooling, testing, and automation. We expect familiarity with Bash and Linux command-line development workflows. We require experience working in Linux development environments. We expect experience using Git in collaborative software development. We need strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. We require the ability to work across both software and hardware during system integration. We value self-motivation and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly. Preferred experience includes developing software for Embedded Linux platforms. Preferred experience includes a solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/UDP, sockets, and IP networking. Preferred experience includes work with robotics or autonomous systems. Preferred experience includes embedded systems or microcontrollers. Preferred experience includes NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar embedded Linux platforms. Bonus experience includes PX4, MAVLink, MAVSDK, or ROS 2. Bonus experience includes computer vision or AI inference. Bonus experience includes distributed systems or multi-agent robotic systems. Bonus experience includes desktop application development with Qt/QML or similar GUI frameworks. Bonus experience includes multimedia streaming technologies such as GStreamer or FFmpeg. A bachelors degree is preferred. We prefer candidates who can relocate to Los Angeles, CA 90041 before starting.
Responsibilities:
We design, develop, and maintain robotics software, primarily in modern C++. We develop software for embedded Linux UAV platforms. We build distributed software components for autonomous robotic systems. We integrate software with UAV hardware, sensors, radios, and onboard computers. We develop networking and communication capabilities between autonomous systems. We create tooling and automation in Python and Bash. We debug and optimize software running on embedded hardware. We support simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and flight testing. We collaborate across software, electrical, mechanical, and autonomy engineering teams. We contribute to software architecture, testing, documentation, and code reviews. We work on autonomous UAV software, distributed robotics systems, embedded Linux platforms, ground control software, simulation and flight testing, networking and communications, hardware integration, AI-enabled robotic systems, and real-world field deployments.
