Requirements:
We require an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, and U.S. citizenship is necessary to obtain access to classified information. We are looking for either two years of program-specific security engineering experience supporting Navy afloat or tactical combat systems, or five years of general security engineering experience. We need two years of engineering experience on combat weapons systems such as Aegis, SSDS, Zumwalt, or other Navy afloat tactical combat systems. We require IAT Level II or Level III certification under DoD 8570.01, or its successor, when serving as an ISSO or ISSE. We are seeking strong knowledge of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies for land-based and afloat/tactical environments. We value clear written and verbal communication skills. A bachelors degree in Cybersecurity is preferred. Preferred certifications include CASP, Security+, or CISSP.
Responsibilities:
We author DoD Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization artifacts. We document systems from a cybersecurity perspective using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Visio. We derive, document, or identify system CONOPS for mission assurance categorization in line with DoDI 8500.2. We research and recommend logical and physical safeguards that help systems achieve certification and accreditation. We apply DISA STIGs and NSA recommendations. We identify gaps between as-built specifications, security requirements, and DoD policy, then recommend corrective actions to achieve compliance. We draft and update system requirements and specifications to align with DoD cybersecurity policy. We perform vulnerability testing using manual methods, ACAS, and other IA and security tools. We plan, carry out, and document risk assessments for known vulnerabilities. We analyze physical and virtual connectivity relationships between Naval warfare systems and interfacing equipment. We serve as an ISSO and act as the security focal point for designated information systems. We define an Information Assurance Vulnerability Management plan. We plan, execute, and document the outcomes of security tests. We help develop cybersecurity requirements, policy standards, best practices, guidance, and procedures for combat systems. We conduct cybersecurity research, analysis, and coordination in support of DoD cyber assurance and policy efforts across multiple classification levels. We participate in working groups to shape cybersecurity strategies that address emerging threats. We assist with evaluating cybersecurity, intelligence, and IT policy gaps for combat systems. We support cybersecurity systems engineering design, analysis, and documentation for combat systems. We help create cybersecurity risk assessments and mitigation plans for combat systems. We contribute to documentation covering cybersecurity requirements, gap analysis, threat analysis, systems engineering, risk assessment, and mitigation for combat systems.
