Responsibilities
Design and implement custom UEFI/BIOS features and maintain firmware code for AWS server platforms; Diagnose complex firmware issues using tools such as ITP, ScanTool, and JTAG; Improve boot-time performance and platform initialization sequences; Implement secure boot mechanisms and other firmware security features; Develop and maintain Power-On Self Test (POST) code, ACPI tables, power management features, and Platform Reference Code; Create firmware update and recovery mechanisms; Partner with hardware teams on board bring-up, platform validation, system debugging, and manufacturing readiness; Coordinate BIOS development with ODM partners and review and validate their code; Work with CPU and GPU vendors, including Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA, on new platform bring-up and reference-code integration; Provide technical leadership on advanced features, mentor junior BIOS engineers, review specifications and design documents, and lead architecture discussions and technical planning; Establish coding standards and engineering best practices; Coordinate work across US and Taiwan teams, track timelines and deliverables, and work with product management and customer teams; Maintain relationships with silicon vendors, participate in industry forums and standards bodies, and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
