Software Engineer AI Platform Engineer

Salary: $280,000 - 280,000 per year
Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph is required. Strong technical depth in AI/ML, Python software engineering, Linux systems, and CNO. Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude Code. Proven ability to architect scalable, high-impact solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve complex production issues. Experience working with senior stakeholders, converting needs into requirements, and building and presenting MVP prototypes. Demonstrated success building and supporting production systems at scale. Background in high-volume web application architecture and performance tuning. Solid systems integration experience across varied technologies and platforms. Hands-on cloud engineering experience in AWS. Proficiency in Kubernetes administration and deployment approaches. Strong Python programming ability. Experience with observability tooling such as APM, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong change management and organizational influence skills. Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and create structure where needed. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred experience with AI inference serving technologies such as vLLM and LiteLLM. Nice-to-have experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain. Familiarity with vector databases and embedding systems. Experience with high-performance computing or distributed systems.
Responsibilities:
We build and maintain the enterprise AI platform that underpins our customers AI capabilities. We design, implement, and optimize infrastructure for AI model inference at scale. We support production AI services and applications, including retrieval augmented generation, autonomous agents, batch inference, and related technologies. We work through ambiguity and define solutions for underspecified systems and requirements. We help drive adoption of new technologies and engineering practices across teams. We implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for AI services. We automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code principles. We ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across AI platform components. We contribute to security best practices for AI systems and data. We provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineers.
