Software Development Engineer, Persistent Connections
Salary: $110,000 - 150,000 per year
Requirements:
We require 5+ years of professional software development experience outside of internships. We require 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software language. We require 5+ years of experience leading system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing platforms. We value experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering manager. We prefer 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. We prefer a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent background. We prefer experience with one or more front-end frameworks such as React or Angular. We prefer experience with generative AI-assisted development practices.
Responsibilities:
We design and implement ultra-high-throughput backend services that support millions of devices and demanding uptime targets. We build extensible services and data models that form the backbone of our device connectivity platform and internal ecosystem. We drive engineering excellence and define best practices across the team. We architect resilient distributed systems on AWS, scaling from thousands to millions of concurrent device operations. We partner with cross-functional teams to turn complex business needs into reliable technical solutions that improve customer experience and security. We lead operational excellence efforts, including monitoring, alerting, and automated testing, to protect critical service dependencies. We contribute to technical decisions that shape our device platform architecture and future product capabilities.
