Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning
Salary: $45,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret security clearance Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field Over 5 years of experience in data science or machine learning, including a minimum of 2 years in federal or defense programs Proficiency in Maven, Vantage, TDP, and Advana Skilled in Python and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) Experienced in data wrangling, feature engineering, and model evaluation in secure or isolated environments Familiarity with DoD data systems, cybersecurity protocols, and cloud solutions (e.g., AWS GovCloud, C2S, Azure Government)
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, creation, and implementation of machine learning models for defense applications, including predictive analytics and decision support systems Collaborate with diverse teams including analysts, engineers, and military personnel to define project requirements and deliver actionable insights Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques on structured and unstructured data from various sources (e.g., sensor data, ISR, logistics, cybersecurity) Ensure that models adhere to ethical standards set by DoD AI principles and governance policies Mentor junior data scientists and aid in the development of reusable tools, frameworks, and best practices Facilitate the integration of machine learning models into operational systems and cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
