Software Engineering Lead Manager
Salary: $113,900 - 200,905 per year
Requirements:
Demonstrated leadership capability aligned with Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives Experience planning and coordinating software development within a team-based environment Strong knowledge of software engineering processes and tools, with hands-on experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery models At least 8 years of direct software development experience across the software development lifecycle, preferably using C++ and Java Familiarity with our processes and procedures, plus experience using software estimating tools and collecting metrics Working knowledge of Linux operating systems Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months of start date U.S. citizenship is required due to the need for a government security clearance Top Secret clearance is required Experience leading a functional team of 10 or more people is highly desirable Experience maintaining software development plans and managing development tools is preferred Understanding of software metrics such as SLOC, defects, and productivity is preferred Experience with data parsing and formatting techniques is preferred Background in secure systems development and cross-domain solutions is preferred Experience with CDS installation, development, certification, and accreditation is preferred Familiarity with government standards and their impact on cross-domain solutions is preferred
Responsibilities:
Lead a software development team of about 10 direct reports and oversee multiple projects within the product Ensure the team meets program and business commitments in partnership with program leadership Manage staffing and resource allocation within the software function, including recruiting and hiring Conduct performance reviews, promotions, and career planning activities Maintain and update software development plans and software SOPs, and ensure the team follows them Mentor and guide the team on customer engagement, work methods, process definition, and continuous improvement Gather, analyze, and apply software and EVM metrics across waterfall, Agile, and hybrid program executions Introduce digital transformation practices into software execution, including DevSecOps, Software Factory, Agile, automated testing, and AI Design, modify, develop, and integrate software applications for the target system using Agile methods Write new source code and enhance existing code as needed Work on cross-domain solution products that protect critical and time-sensitive data for military applications and networks Collaborate with domain experts, industry specialists, and technical staff to plan and manage software development activities Work on site at our Deer Creek Facility in Littleton, Colorado, with limited remote flexibility, and travel may be required
