High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Certificate from a two-year technical diploma program for HVAC/refrigeration Extensive experience in general maintenance and advanced repairs Proficient in electrical or refrigeration tasks At least 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance Valid Drivers License Certification or working towards certification in refrigeration or electrical Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification Must satisfy state and federal certification or licensing criteria
Responsibilities:
Attend to and resolve guest repair requests Communicate effectively with guests to address maintenance issues Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment Perform visual inspections of tools and machinery Identify and manage all shut-off valves for equipment Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies Report daily activities and any issues to the next shift Exhibit knowledge of building systems and emergency procedures Read standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC Utilize hand and power tools safely for repair tasks Execute complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment Conduct routine property inspections for safety hazards Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, including HVAC and appliances Use Lockout/Tagout system during maintenance work Maintain awareness of maintenance contracts and vendor relationships Utilize engineering software programs for maintenance management Perform troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems Mentor and train junior engineers when necessary Fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and site rounds Adhere to safety and security policies, reporting hazards or issues Ensure professional appearance and maintain confidentiality Build and maintain positive relationships with team members Respond to the needs of guests with professionalism and clear communication Perform physical tasks related to the role, including lifting and moving objects
