Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, build, commissioning, and operation of the Molten Salt Laboratory; Define and own the development roadmap for molten salt capabilities from static pots to large forced flow test loops; Develop timelines for prototypical thermal-hydraulic test environments including fabrication and testing; Partner with Science, Engineering, and Operations divisions to align goals; Translate scientific insights and experimental data into design guidance for fusion system architecture; Evaluate emerging scientific opportunities and integrate advances from academia and national labs; Manage relationships with external laboratories, universities, and vendors; Establish laboratory research best practices, documentation standards, and quality expectations; Support system troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for experimental operations.
