Role Overview
Assistant Professor (teaching staff group) at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Lublin University of Technology.
Responsibilities
- Delivering academic-level courses in mathematics or computer science.
- Participating in organisational duties within the department and the faculty.
- Preparing course documentation, e.g. syllabi and lesson plans.
- Grading students’ assignments and papers, giving them feedback, and archiving these materials.
- Entering data into the University’s IT system.
- Participating in the thesis-supervision (diploma) process.
- Holding consultations with students.
- Enhancing teaching competences through internal and external training courses.
- Contributing to the educational development of the department.
- Organising and taking part in initiatives run by the university, the faculty and the department.
- Participating in activities that promote the university, the faculty and the department.
Requirements and Qualifications
- PhD degree in a discipline within the field of exact sciences in mathematics or computer science.
- Teaching experience in delivering university-level courses.
- Fluent command of Polish, both spoken and written.
- Fluent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Predisposition for teaching and organisational work.
- Eligible candidates must meet the conditions specified in Article 113 of the Act “Law on Higher Education and Science” of 20 July 2018 and in the Statute of Lublin University of Technology.
