JOB DESCRIPTION - PROJECT LEAD (Mechanical - DATA CENTER)
Position Summary
As a Project Lead - Mechanical at JLL, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection (MPF) aspects of projects. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with project management skills to ensure successful delivery of MPF services within scope, budget, and timeline.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead MPF design and installation activities for commercial office fit-out projects
• Review and validate MPF designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration of MPF systems
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor installation quality and progress
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, RFIs, and change orders
• Develop and manage project schedules for MPF works
• Perform cost analysis and budget management for MPF components
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Participate in client meetings to discuss technical requirements and provide expert advice
• Manage commissioning and testing of MPF systems
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project handover
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8-10 years of experience in MPF engineering with specific focus on greenfield and fit-out projects
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection in commercial environments
• Knowledge of building automation systems and energy-efficient design practices
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards
• Proven track record of successful MPF project delivery
• Experience with MPF coordination tools and BIM software
Required Skills
• Technical expertise in MPF systems and fit-out requirements
• Project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting MPF systems
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient design
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional Engineering license or certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience with sustainable building practices and certification processes (LEED, WELL, etc.)
• Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
• Experience with construction management software
Working Conditions
• May require travel to various project locations
• Occasionally required to work outside normal business hours to accommodate project schedules
