Define end-to-end RF communications architectures for Mars and cislunar programs; Lead architecture trades and system-level analyses for deep space frequency bands and link budgets; Develop comprehensive deep-space link budgets and performance analyses; Develop and maintain communications architecture documentation aligned with NASA LunaNet and CCSDS standards; Collaborate with mission engineering and systems engineering teams to ensure communications compatibility; Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams for system integration and verification; Engage with government customers and commercial partners to capture requirements and influence program direction; Provide technical leadership and mentorship to RF and communications engineers; Support proposal development for deep space telecommunications pursuits; Identify and assess emerging RF and optical communications technologies; Lead technical development of delay/disruption-tolerant networking (DTN) protocols; Ensure compliance with deep space spectrum regulations and ITAR; Partner with Mission Engineering & Architecture leadership to align architectures with broader mission strategies.
