We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Food, Nutrition & Environmental Services to lead and oversee all food service, clinical nutrition, retail/catering operations, and environmental services at our medical center. This is a salaried, full-time position with primary hours of Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with the flexibility to adjust hours as needed to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
• Provides strategic direction and hands-on management to ensure high-quality meal service, nutritional patient care, and a clean, safe facility environment aligned with organizational objectives
• Directly manages 3 direct reports while indirectly supporting a team of approximately 25 team members
• Oversees hiring, training, performance reviews, and workflow management
• Manages department budget and oversees large and/or complex projects or programs
• Enforces proper chemical use and waste disposal protocols and guidelines
• Resolves complex customer and patient concerns in collaboration with physicians, peer managers, and senior leadership
• Minimum 3 years of management experience preferred
• Executive Chef background with both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) expertise preferred

Banner Behavioral Health has 156 licensed inpatient beds and is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Our focus is on adults and adolescents dealing with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues who voluntarily seek help. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides direction, planning and supervision of food services and clinical nutrition services to ensure that the department provides efficient, high quality meal service and nutritional care to patients and customers. These services may also include multiple retail food/beverage units and catering services. This position is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of all functions of the Environmental Services department to maintain a clean and safe medical center environment. Ensures the proper guidelines and protocols governing the use of chemicals and the disposal of waste products are enforced. The position provides strategic direction to ensure the department goals are consistent with organizational objectives.

1. Manages professional or supervisory employees. Hires, trains, conducts performance reviews, and directs the workflow of designated staff.
2. Makes decisions within approved operating plans and objectives and within functional policies and precedents. May manage budget for large and/or complex projects or programs.
3. Sets direction and resolves problems. Resolves increasingly complex customer complaints or problems.
4. Interacts primarily with direct reports, supervisor, customers, peer managers, supervisor’s peers, patients and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Food Service Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field. Or equivalent experience and training
Significant technical and moderate managerial experience, typically gained through four to seven years in the management in the management of Environmental Services or in both retail and patient food service, production and procurement, and in managing clinical nutrition services.
Must be able to budget and apply clinical skills to quality assurance and utilization management. Requires strong abilities in leadership, communications, business analysis and planning, and the ability to plan and direct the work of others.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
