Responsibilities
Receives and logs patient demographic and test information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Identifies and processes specimens while maintaining specimen integrity. Prepares specimens by determining stability, volume, and centrifugation needs. Distributes specimens to appropriate departments for analysis. Monitors pre-analytical automation lines and performs manual intervention if errors occur. Receives phone inquiries from providers and resolves specimen issues. Trains new or less experienced staff on department-specific work.
