Define and design complex precision-stage mechanical components and mechatronic sub-systems; define control system architecture including servo loop topology and feedforward strategy; set technical direction for stage controls including error budgets and performance targets; develop dynamic models of stage mechanics and integrate with control design; specify and integrate position feedback and metrology with real-time control hardware; define, tune, and validate multi-axis servo loops and trajectory profiles; conduct detailed engineering analysis of subsystems including control-loop stability and modal dynamics; build and qualify prototypes or procure and test subsystems from suppliers; troubleshoot difficult engineering problems including servo instability and vibration; partner with electrical, firmware, and software teams on real-time control implementation; support system integration during assembly and final test; drive successful completion of tool safety standards; prepare summary reports and present findings to technical experts
