Sr. Subject Matter Expert - Implementations
The Professional Services division is responsible for delivery of change/transformation/advisory services to existing clients on Clearwater’s SaaS platform. We work in conjunction with Client Services to identify opportunities for value-added services to steady state clients and implement change projects for our clients.
A Subject Matter Expert (SME) works on a variety of client projects in Investment Accounting, General Ledger, Client Reporting and Derivatives & Alternatives asset classes. All client projects are billable via Professional Services fees and based on time & material or fixed fee billing. Typical examples of projects include data integration projects (changes to inbound/outbound feeds to CW), GL rebuild, accounting configuration changes, bespoke reports etc.
SMEs are an integral part of a collaborative division spanning analysts, team leads and program managers. Collaborating with client services, global delivery and R&D teams, they strategize and enhance our product offering, streamline client’s change management experience, and expediate delivery timeframes through scalable processes.
Responsibilities:
• Proactively identifies opportunities for value-added professional services with existing steady state clients by working closely with Client Services and Clearwater leadership teams.
• Hands-on expertise in Clearwater's core offering of Accounting, Compliance, Risk, and Performance reports, with a robust repertoire of best practice solutions.
• Expert in requirements analysis and solution design considering both complexity and scale.
• Strategizes with client services, product management and development teams to enhance the client change management experience, optimize delivery timeframes, and establish repeatable, scalable processes.
• Serves as a trusted client advocate and a confident client advisor.
Required skills:
• Bachelors/master's in finance/accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in related field.
• CFA or CPA is desirable.
• Proven experience in Client Servicing and/or Onboarding teams in Clearwater.
• Advanced Experience with General Ledger systems and period-end close processes.
• Advanced Knowledge of investment accounting policies and procedures.
• Securities or financial markets experience, especially involving alternative assets.
• Knowledge in at least one specific market/regulatory regime (e.g. NAIC, Local GAAP).
• Knowledge of CW platform data migration processes – inbound/outbound feeds, cost basis file load, load parallels etc.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; strong problem-solving abilities.
