QA Engineer II

We're looking for a QA Engineer II to join Procore's Product & Technology organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and scaling performance and load tests for critical systems to ensure our platform delivers reliable and high-performing experiences to millions of users worldwide. You should be detail-oriented, analytical, and self-driven, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams across various domains and locations. This position reports to the QA Engineering Manager and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do

• Design, write, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and integration) that expand coverage and shorten release cycles.

• Execute manual, exploratory, and regression testing for new features and bug fixes prior to release.

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers during planning to define clear, testable acceptance criteria.

• Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with precise steps, logs, and severity assessments to speed resolution.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor results to keep the build healthy and stable.

• Analyze test failures, triage root causes, and reduce flaky or redundant tests across the suite.

• Contribute to test strategy, coverage metrics, and quality standards for your team's product area.

• Champion quality best practices across the development lifecycle and mentor peers on effective testing techniques.

• Leverage generative tools and agentic workflows to move faster and work smarter.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including hands-on test automation.

• Proficiency with automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or similar) and at least one programming or scripting language.

• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience testing web applications and REST APIs, with familiarity in defect-tracking and test-management tools (e.g., Jira, Xray).

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with meticulous attention to detail and clear written communication.

• Prompt Engineering for Testing: Writing clear context, constraints, and instructions into LLMs to quickly generate test cases, edge cases, and negative testing scenarios from user stories
• AI-Assisted Code & Debugging: Using AI skills to draft basic automation scripts (e.g., in Playwright, Selenium, or Python) or to paste and decode error logs and stack traces for faster troubleshooting.
• Synthetic Test Data Generation: Leveraging AI tools to instantly create mock data sets, boundary values, and randomized inputs for functional testing.
