Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy, calculate and set controls to supervise machine operations, confirm accuracy of first set ups using test pieces, study blueprints and drawings to resolve dimensions and tolerances, observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust controls, troubleshoot work-related problems to maintain production goals, measure and count materials to monitor production quality and volume, clean scale or scrap from dies, grind out burrs and sharp edges
