Responsibilities
Maintain organized and accurate records for the welding department; Ensure the flow of materials, parts and welds are adequate to meet on-time requirements; Administer and assess periodic welding and finishing tests; Assign tasks in collaboration with supervisor based on workflow and staffing availability; Assist the supervisor in various departmental duties including special projects and process improvements; Maintain a daily record of production, scrap, and rework; Assist team in performance of duties and troubleshooting equipment and processes; Ensure employees comply with standards and safety rules; Conduct quality audits as needed; Responsible for ordering supplies and monitoring production material levels; Perform production work at any station as needed; Enhance morale in the workplace and facilitate the interchange of production improvement ideas; Interact closely with quality auditors, process engineers, scheduler, and other support staff; Support other production areas as backup to other supervisors when needed
