Responsibilities

Review supplier and internal engineering designs, manufacturing and test documentation and processes with a focus on material safety and reliability; Work with program managers, design engineers, procurement, and supplier personnel to identify appropriate, reliable parts for use in mission designs; Judiciously apply an in-depth understanding of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) component technical standards in the selection and evaluation of EEE parts for use in space-qualified hardware; Identify technical risks and issues with products and spacecraft designs, recommend corrective actions and risk mitigations; Support technical activities including Failure Review Board (FRB), Corrective Action Board (CAB), and Parts, Materials, and Process Control Board (PMPCB); Support analysis and testing of material and component qualification for the space environment; Provide expertise on destructive and non-destructive test methodologies and interpretation of test results; Evaluate defective components and failure analysis reports to support electrical, reliability, mechanical, and quality engineers; Understand, interpret, and apply industry, government, and internal parts and materials specifications in the context of risks posed to space missions; Provide independent support to our missions with an understanding of mission requirements, context, and design philosophies across all space vehicle systems to ensure mission success
