Responsibilities
Execute purchasing procedures and develop process improvements; Analyze raw material requirements based on master production plans; Identify risks and excesses in raw materials and take corrective actions; Execute exception messages to expedite, delay, or cancel orders for adequate inventory levels; Generate purchase orders to suppliers on time with proper authorizations; Coordinate effective meetings with suppliers to foster client-supplier relationships; Search for alternative purchases based on authorized AVL to avoid line stoppages; Ensure VMI part numbers are controlled to avoid excess, obsolescence, or shortages; Provide proposals to suppliers based on ERP requirements; Coordinate the supply chain from supplier locations to receipt at the Chihuahua plant, including tracking, customs, and international logistics; Generate shortage reports for internal follow-up; Maintain updated data in ERP (MOQ, authorized prices, contacts); Obtain quotes and analyze suppliers for new NPI components; Purchase "test materials" for engineering changes or substitutes; Communicate effectively with planning and warehouse departments; Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning & production meetings; Attend internal and external supplier service meetings; Maintain communication with Customs and warehouse personnel for imports; Comply with training and purchasing certifications; Maintain purchasing metrics (Inventory Turns, PPV, Shortages, RDSL, avoid additional freight costs); Implement continuous improvement and cost-saving projects; Participate in annual physical inventories; Participate in sales or inventory projection meetings based on component availability; Ensure data integrity for components, request counts for adjustments, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers; Participate in ISO certification procedures; Handle any situation related to components in the purchasing area; Comply with plant safety and quality procedures.
