Job Description for Database Administration I:
Accountable For:
• Responsible for providing support for operational database services to the organization.
• Owns, tracks, and resolves database related events, issues, incidents and coordinate with respective application and infra owners.
• Supports 24x7 operations in rotating shifts, resolves incidents within SLAs
• Reviews service-related reports (database backups, maintenance, monitoring) daily to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs
• Responding to investigate database related alerts and escalations and working with others within the organization to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration and support in Oracle versions 12c through 19c.
• Knowledge needed on setting up, monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle Golden Gate.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot potential database related issues and constraints (CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, etc.).
• Knowledge on Oracle Performance Tuning.
• Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating Knowledge Transfer documents, run-books, topology etc.)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast-paced and demanding.
• Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy and with the ability to deliver on time.
• Ability to be on call production support on a rotation basis.
• Experience in MYSQL , MS SQL are desired.
• Experience in Cloud desired.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
