Responsibilities
Set up and operate OD and ID grinding machines based on setup sheets and engineering drawings; Install and true workholding devices, grinding wheels, fixtures, centers, chucks, and tooling; Select, mount, balance, and dress grinding wheels based on material and finish specifications; Use hydraulic press to straighten shaft style parts; Set machine speeds, feeds, wheel offsets, and grinding parameters; Grind outside diameters, inside diameters, shoulders, faces, tapers, and other precision features; Verify blueprint revision levels before production; Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment; Monitor grinding wheel wear and machine performance; Complete work orders and record production data in scheduling systems; Perform routine operator maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and wheel replacement; Identify and report machine malfunctions or quality concerns; Follow safety requirements and sustain 5S ratings; Participate in continuous improvement activities
