Responsibilities
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions; clamp, heat-bend, and bolt parts to required configurations; examine work pieces for defects and measure for conformance; lay out, position, align, and secure parts using straightedges and calipers; chip off excess weld, slag, or spatter; analyze engineering drawings and work orders to plan operations; weld aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and other alloys; mark or tag material with job numbers; prepare material surfaces free of slag, rust, moisture, and grease; position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, and hand tools; repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts; set up and use ladders and scaffolding as necessary
