Responsibilities

Develop HVAC engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment selections, and analytical models; Design heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hydronic, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment systems; Perform engineering calculations including heating and cooling load analyses, ventilation calculations, duct and pipe sizing, pressure loss analyses, equipment selection, and system performance evaluations; Prepare coordinated construction documents, equipment schedules, ductwork and piping layouts, control narratives, system diagrams, and supporting design documentation; Utilize CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop and coordinate accurate 2D drawings and 3D HVAC models; Collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls teams to deliver coordinated and constructible HVAC system designs; Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), participating in site visits, assisting with commissioning activities, and supporting field coordination; Participate in project coordination meetings to communicate design progress, resolve technical issues, and support successful project execution; Maintain organized engineering documentation and contribute to quality reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives; Engage in ongoing professional development to expand technical expertise in HVAC system design, energy efficiency, decarbonization, and building performance
