Support the branch director in implementing actions to achieve financial objectives including revenue targets; promote an effective control environment through compliance with company policies and ethical standards; support commercial and customer service activities including quotes, reservations, and contracts; establish new accounts and reactivate old ones by determining needs and creating customer-centric solutions; maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring staff training and adherence to rental processes; manage daily operations including opening/closing, cash reconciliation, and bank deposits; support the branch director in implementing new operational strategies and programs; maintain compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local regulations; manage performance of direct reports including internal sales representatives; motivate, coach, and train staff; create employee schedules and maintain attendance records; resolve staff issues according to established reporting processes; welcome new hires and provide ongoing employee training; establish productive working relationships with union representatives and apply the collective agreement; provide regular performance feedback and recognition; promote a safety culture and discipline; conduct safety investigations from launch to resolution; collaborate with safety managers and enterprise risk management services to support regulatory safety programs; aggressively seek performance improvement and reduction in recorded injury rates and near-miss incidents; maintain general cleanliness of office, workshop, yard, and common areas.
