Responsibilities
Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, EPA, and other regulatory guidelines; Conduct job hazard assessments and implement safety policies; Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards; Inspect facilities and machinery to identify and correct hazards; Investigate industrial accidents to determine root causes; Develop safety contingency plans for fires and spills; Perform environmental compliance and due diligence audits; Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste including DOT and RCRA requirements; Review and interpret new environmental laws and regulations; Provide expert guidance on safety design to engineering customers; Conduct and monitor NPDES discharge permits and plans; Maintain recordkeeping for permitted sources.
