About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About the Role

The Global Network Operations team keeps Salesforce's production network running reliably, 24x7, across every region in the world. As a Senior Network Engineer on this team, you'll own the health and stability of the infrastructure that millions of customers depend on every day — diagnosing complex incidents, driving proactive improvements, and partnering with engineering teams to make the network smarter and more resilient over time. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep technical work and real customer outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own incident management across the production network, performing break/fix and proactive maintenance to resolve outages and reduce future risk

• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues — performing root cause analysis on all customer-impacting events and implementing lasting solutions

• Isolate hardware and software faults on network devices and collaborate with vendors to drive resolution

• Perform proactive network maintenance including code upgrades, hardware refreshes, config updates, peering/transit turn-ups, and decommissions

• Provide third-line support for network-related customer issues, bringing technical depth and clear communication to high-stakes situations

• Drive service ownership within the Network Cloud — improving alerting, incident handling, change management processes, and automation

• Work closely with engineering teams to identify and implement improvements that increase network stability and reduce outage potential

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High level of proficiency with TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and HTTP

• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper router and switch hardware installation and fault diagnosis

• Experience deploying and managing large-scale distributed network environments

• Knowledge of firewall and access-list configuration and troubleshooting

• In-depth experience working in Unix/Linux environments

• Strong background in performance analysis, systems software, and systems architecture

• Data-driven approach to system performance — comfortable with empirical monitoring and using metrics to guide decisions

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented working style

• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation providing weekend network engineering support

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting load balancers, with emphasis on F5

• Strong skills in packet analysis and network analysis tooling

• Experience deploying, customising, and scaling network monitoring solutions

• Proficiency in scripting or programming — Python, Perl, or similar

What's in It for You

You'll join a world-class network operations team with genuine global scope — collaborating across time zones on infrastructure that underpins one of the most trusted platforms in enterprise software. At Salesforce, we invest in your growth through learning opportunities, stretch projects, and a culture that values curiosity and shared ownership. You'll have the autonomy to drive meaningful improvements, and the support of a team that takes quality seriously.
