Responsibilities
Provide and/or supervise crisis intervention to the family of the psychiatric patient; Provide psychosocial consultation to hospital personnel and psychiatric patients; Provide screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment services for high risk drinking or alcohol abuse; Facilitate the appropriate disposition of patients in need of mental health/chemical dependency services; Provide comprehensive shift to shift reporting on the status of intake; Organize intake data in an appropriate manner; Report significant concerns/patient issues to the Director of Nursing; Consult with physicians to obtain appropriate disposition for mental health/chemical dependent patients; Assess appropriateness of admissions for patients in need of mental health/chemical dependency services
