Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end management of contractor and client-side claims; Prepare robust, fully evidenced claim narratives covering contractual entitlement, cause and effect, quantum and supporting records; Assess incoming claims and variations, testing contractual basis, valuation, programme impact and the quality of substantiation; Apply quantity surveying expertise to cost build-ups, valuations, change control, loss and expense, disruption and prolongation assessments; Work with planning and project controls colleagues to understand delay, sequencing, productivity and time-related cost impacts; Advise Project Managers and senior stakeholders on contractual risk, claim strategy, commercial exposure and recommended actions; Support the administration of Early Warnings, Compensation Events, notices, instructions and other contract communications under NEC contracts; Maintain accurate claim registers, contemporaneous records, correspondence and audit trails, ensuring deadlines and notice requirements are met; Lead or support negotiations with clients, contractors and supply-chain partners to achieve fair, timely and commercially sound outcomes; Help prevent disputes through proactive issue resolution and support adjudication, mediation, expert review or other formal processes when required; Produce concise reports on claim status, value, risk, forecast position and key decisions; Promote consistent claims-management practice, lessons learned and effective record keeping across the project team
