Responsibilities
Lead preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates for power distribution, substations, UPS, generators, and switchgear; Perform and oversee comprehensive electrical quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models; Develop and validate labor, material, and equipment pricing models; Review, analyze, and normalize electrical contractor and subcontractor bids; Lead and support value engineering and design optioneering efforts; Partner with engineering, procurement, and construction leaders to inform electrical system decisions; Identify and manage risks related to long-lead equipment, supply chain constraints, and labor availability; Account for regional cost variability across U.S. markets; Support estimating for large-scale power infrastructure including utility tie-ins; Contribute to standardized data center designs; Ensure estimates align with applicable codes, safety standards, and sustainability objectives; Prepare clear, defensible estimating deliverables and present findings to stakeholders; Participate in cost reviews, procurement discussions, and commercial strategy sessions; Support change management by assessing electrical scope changes; Provide estimating handover materials to construction teams; Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior estimators
