Responsibilities
Perform detailed construction-related inspections focusing on work in progress, special activities, and identified problem areas; Conduct periodic inspection team meetings to discuss WTP construction activities and status of open items; Provide input to periodic inspection reports of all WPA site inspection activities; Perform and document inspections of in-process and completed contractor installation activities to ensure compliance with contract, AB, codes, and standards; Review nuclear safety, industrial health and safety, fire protection, QA, material control, welding, electrical, concrete, and structural work activities; Recommend corrective actions to DOE staff, including stop work if necessary; Maintain national inspection accreditations in related expertise; Assess safety performance of the WTP construction contractor; Verify procedures, specifications, materials, and staff qualifications meet AB requirements; Complete on-site inspections of construction work for WTP facilities; Develop and submit weekly and monthly inspection reports.
