The Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) invites applications for a Support PhD Researcher (ICP1, MECES 4) position within the research line "Sistemas de comunicaciones ópticas no guiados" (Unguided optical communication systems). The position is associated with the research project: “SISTEMAS DE COMUNICACIONES ÓPTICAS Y SENSADO DE BAJA LATENCIA PARA COMUNICACIONES VEHICULARES” Project Reference: PID2024-1553300B-C21. The contract is permanent, financed until the end date of the research project. The successful candidate will perform their duties at the Institute for Technological Development and Innovation in Communications (IDeTIC), specifically within the Aerospace Systems Development Laboratory.

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will carry out the following core project duties:
- Development of vehicular transceivers: Designing and building vehicular communication transceivers based on unguided optical communication systems.
- System testing: Rigorous performance and experimental testing of the developed systems under strict laboratory conditions.
- Technical reporting: Compiling, structuring, and preparing comprehensive technical documentation and project reports.

- Education Level: PhD or equivalent
- Specific Requirements:
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Information and Communication Technologies (Doctor/a en tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones).
- Technical Experience: Documented background and experience in the design and experimentation of unguided optical communication systems.
- Languages: English - Excellent
