Responsibilities
Own the full month-end close process including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations; Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for executive and board review; Produce variance analysis against budget and prior periods with clear narrative commentary; Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts by working closely with department heads to validate assumptions; Build and maintain financial models that reflect SaaS-specific metrics; Examine operating costs and income/expenditure across the business to identify trends, inefficiencies, and savings opportunities; Prepare BAS, GST, and tax workpapers and liaise with external tax advisers on compliance obligations; Administer and improve accounting systems (Xero) and drive automation of manual processes; Act as a credible financial partner to department heads by translating numbers into business insight for commercial decisions.
