Senior Software Engineer Backend (m/f/d)

## Responsibilities * Work as a Senior Software Engineer Backend on the navify platform within the Platform Engineering chapter. * Collaborate in cross-functional teams with engineers, designers, product owners, and QA experts to develop software that meets the highest expectations for digital health products. * Contribute to the digital health ecosystem using Java, Spring Boot, relational databases, and REST. * Support efforts to improve the digital health ecosystem by building clean, stable, testable, and performant backend code. * Participate in code reviews, ensure test coverage, observe quality days, and adhere to CI/CD principles. * Guide and share knowledge with other engineers. * Gain understanding of medical software requirements, including security, medical risk management, safe and resilient programming, certifications, and audits. * Engage with users, customers, and partners to understand the needs of healthcare systems worldwide. ## Requirements * At least 5 years of experience working as a software engineer, including 2 years as a backend engineer. * Familiarity with backend technologies: Java 21+ and frameworks like Spring Boot 3+. * Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). * Experience with OpenID Connect standard and Keycloak or other open-source software products for single sign-on with identity and access management. * Experience building AI/LLM-powered backend services and tools. * Passion for solid technical design, clean code, and future-proof architectures. * Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers. * Great written and verbal communication in English. ## Nice to Have * Experience in automated testing with Selenium or Selenide. * Knowledge of Infra as Code, Terraform, and Github Actions. * Understanding of medical, security, and privacy regulations. * Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other comparable health industries. ## Benefits * Ambitious and passionate people building meaningful products for a global audience. * Innovative agile working environment allowing for collaboration with smart people and knowledge sharing in cross-functional teams. * Loads of benefits including brand new Apple hardware, fitness, public transport, lunch benefit, language classes, professional training budget, and chance to join global conferences. * Flexible working hours and home office policy, 5 weeks vacation. * Amazing office with a rooftop terrace, fully stocked kitchen, and amazing barista coffee machines in the middle of Vienna. * Competitive compensation packages reflecting experience level (minimum gross EUR 3,843 per month according to collective agreement).
