This is a hybrid opportunity based in Jersey City, New Jersey, supporting a long-term enterprise banking initiative. The role offers the chance to contribute to high-visibility data platforms involving Databricks Lakehouse architecture, governance integration, workflow orchestration, and secure application deployment in a regulated financial services environment.
## Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support Databricks Lakehouse and Lakebase platforms using Medallion Architecture and Unity Catalog.
- Develop scalable batch and streaming data pipelines within Azure Databricks.
- Build and deploy Databricks Apps with Python-based backend services.
- Create enterprise-grade full stack applications using Python, Django, Flask, and Streamlit.
- Deploy Python applications and services through Kubernetes and Azure Functions.
- Develop Streamlit-based user interfaces that support internal enterprise workflows.
- Implement BPMN-based workflow orchestration within Django applications.
- Integrate data platforms with Collibra for governance, lineage, certification, and compliance visibility.
- Support security, auditability, and regulatory control requirements across enterprise data platforms.
## Requirements
- 15+ years of professional technology experience, with strong depth in enterprise application and data platform delivery.
- Mandatory banking or financial services background.
- Prior experience supporting Risk, Finance, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, or other controlled enterprise data platforms.
- Advanced Python development experience.
- Strong hands-on Databricks experience, including Databricks Apps, Databricks Jobs, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, Lakebase concepts, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing Medallion Architecture across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- Strong backend development experience with Django and Flask.
- Streamlit experience for internal workflow or data application UI development.
- Kubernetes experience deploying Python services or applications.
- Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, Azure identity, and access control integration experience.
- GitHub CI/CD experience for Databricks and application workloads.
- BPMN workflow design and execution experience, ideally within Django-based applications.
- Collibra experience for governance, lineage, certification, and compliance visibility.
## Nice to Have
- Additional experience with enterprise workflow automation tools.
- Experience with financial services regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Experience with cloud-native application development and DevOps practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.
