## About the Role We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Pharmacist to lead the setup and launch of our new pharmacy in the Netherlands, which will serve our German customer base initially before we launch our offering to Dutch patients next year. If you care about getting things right, building safe systems, and running a compliant high-volume dispensary, this is a chance to have real influence from day one. This is a non patient facing role focused on clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational leadership during setup, launch and ongoing scale. ## Responsibilities - Lead the process for obtaining all pharmacy and operational licenses (IGJ, KNMP, municipality). - Develop and implement SOPs to meet registration and inspection requirements. - Ensure compliance with the Dutch Medicines Act, GDP, and cross-border mail-order regulations. - Act as the Responsible Pharmacist once licensed. - Liaise with regulators, authorities, and external consultants to maintain inspection readiness. - Oversee pharmaceutical operations, clinical governance, and safe dispensing. - Review complex prescriptions and manage clinical interventions. - Ensure all activity aligns with Dutch, German and EU legislation and internal protocols. - Maintain accurate clinical documentation and professional accountability. - Carry out and record pharmaceutical assessments as needed. - Line manage pharmacists and pharmacy support staff. - Recruit and induct new team members during setup and growth phases. - Build a collaborative culture that prioritises safety and consistency. - Conduct performance management, feedback, and development planning. - Delegate effectively to maintain workflow and support professional development. - Maintain full adherence to KNMP standards and guidance. - Oversee SOP implementation and continuous review across the dispensary. - Keep accurate records required by regulators. - Manage audits, inspection prep, and compliance reporting. - Investigate errors and near misses, implement corrective actions, and share learning. - Monitor workflow, queue management, and resource allocation in a high-volume environment. - Oversee stock management, recalls, and returns processes. - Work closely with operations leadership to deliver KPIs. - Support process improvements and system upgrades across the pharmacy. - Contribute to operational planning as the site scales. - Maintain your own professional registration and CPD. - Lead by example with professional conduct and pharmacy ethics. - Stay current with Dutch, German and EU legislation and best practice. - Cascade relevant updates and training to the wider team. ## Requirements - BIG-registered pharmacist with KNMP membership. - 5+ years post registration pharmacy experience within NL, DE or EU. - Proven experience managing pharmacists. - Strong regulatory knowledge and compliance expertise. - Excellent leadership and team management skills. - Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. - Strong organisational and time management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. - Proven ability to lead and implement SOPs and compliance processes. - Experience with cross-border mail-order regulations and international pharmacy operations. ## Nice to Have - Experience with digital pharmacy operations and technology integration. - Familiarity with Dutch, German and EU healthcare systems. - Experience in setting up and launching new pharmacy operations. - Knowledge of clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks. - Experience with audit and inspection processes. - Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain and logistics. ## Benefits - Opportunity to shape the future of digital healthcare at a global scale. - Work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a clear vision and ambitious goals. - Lead a high-volume, compliant pharmacy operation with real impact on patient outcomes. - Collaborate with a team of experts in healthcare, technology, and operations. - Influence the development of systems, processes, and products that define the next decade of digital healthcare.
