Lead next-generation cell design and assess tradeoffs between electrochemical performance, cost, and energy density; model advanced cell designs including material selection and electrode design; analyze cell testing data to troubleshoot performance issues; conduct cell failure-mode analysis and develop methods for degradation resolution; benchmark next-generation materials via electrochemical and physical testing of coin and pouch cells; optimize electrode formulations, coatings, and material selection; identify and resolve process challenges related to scale-up of cell designs; collaborate with supplier industrialization and energy storage system teams to facilitate scaling from lab to mass manufacturing
