Responsibilities
Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to quantify cost, margin, and lifecycle tradeoffs during product architecture reviews; Develop and maintain should-cost models at system, sub-system, and component levels; Translate engineering changes (BOM, specs, tolerances) into financial impact on unit economics and gross margin; Own Engineering Finance forecasting for key programs including engineering spend and tooling; Track and manage cost-reduction initiatives with savings estimates and verification; Partner with supply chain on sourcing decisions and analyze impact on landed costs including federal tax incentives
